REMINDER: Annual licence fees must be paid by 1 January 2018. Be sure to pay on time to avoid late fees, licence suspension or possible cancellation. Licensees who have not received an annual fee notice from the licensing authority should contact the licensing authority to arrange payment because the fees are still due and payable in any event. It is the responsibility of licensees to ensure payment is made on time.
A liquor licence cannot be used as security, like most other types of asset. Also, a power of attorney authorising someone to act as licensee for someone else has no effect.
By Decision dated 21 November 2017 the Director Liquor Control and Arbitration granted conditional approval for a tavern restricted licence and extended trading permit for later hours, in respect of the new Optus Stadium.
The Decision contains six pages of conditions, including some that are commonly imposed on licences and others that were to be expected for a venue of such large scale, such as limits on drinks per person.
