The Rottnest Channel Swim Association delivers Western Australia’s most iconic open water swim event, the 19.7 km South32 Rottnest Channel Swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island in Perth, Western Australia.

The event began with just 44 intrepid swimmers in 1991 and quickly grew to be a staple for Perth locals and an aspiration for many interstate and international swimmers. To date, the current event sees almost 2,500 swimmers competing each year to conquer the Rottnest Channel.

The RCSA also facilitates Out of Event Solo Crossings, promoting the safety and welfare of swimmers attempting a crossing, and interest in swimming across the Rottnest Channel.

Lavan is proud to be a long-standing supporter of the RCSA and sponsor of The Lavan Charity Challenge; a key category of the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim. Each year forty teams of four swimmers compete in the open water race from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island while raising vital funds for local charities.
