Lavan assisted the provider following an unannounced ACQSC site audit that resulted in multiple Not‑Met findings across the Aged Care Quality Standards. We coordinated the provider’s governance response, advised on incident management and clinical risk systems and prepared submissions addressing the Commission’s concerns. Working closely with the executive and clinical teams, we coached frontline leaders on regulatory expectations and guided the provider through follow‑up audits. The service returned to compliance and avoided sanction.

Lavan acted for a provider in its acquisition of three operating residential aged care facilities as part of a wider service expansion strategy. Our work included extensive legal due diligence across regulatory compliance, workforce and safety issues, property and planning considerations, and ICT/clinical system integration. We advised on transaction structuring, negotiation of deal terms and transition planning. The acquisition was completed on schedule, with ongoing support provided during integration and regulatory notifications.

Lavan acted for a home care provider following a complex complaint raised by a family regarding service delivery, clinical escalation and communication failures in the home care context. The matter resulted in ACQSC involvement and a review of the provider’s pricing, incident management, care planning, delegation and monitoring processes. Lavan undertook a detailed review of care documentation, risk assessments, escalation pathways and communication practices and advised the provider on responding to the Commission, including preparation of factual submissions and evidence demonstrating compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards.
