Andrew Sutton is a special counsel in Lavan’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution team.
Andrew commenced employment with Lavan as a Law Clerk in 2013 and was admitted as a solicitor in November 2016.
Andrew is experienced in litigation, having managed complex commercial disputes within superior jurisdictions. He regularly advises on contentious matters, and endeavours to provide clients with commercial outcomes.
Andrew has represented clients in a variety of practice areas, including intellectual property, consumer law, property disputes and trusts. He manages a large trade mark portfolio and assists clients to protect and enforce their intellectual property. Andrew has a particular interest in legal issues arising out of software technology, and provides front and back end advice in that regard.
Andrew also advises clients on compliance with Australian Consumer Law and the Privacy Act.
Andrew has experience assisting on a variety of matters in the High Court of Australia, Supreme Court of Western Australia, District Court of Western Australia, and the Magistrates Court of Western Australia.
