Robert Shaw practises in all areas of construction law including drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts, ongoing contract administration and dispute resolution. Rob is a partner in Lavan’s Construction and Infrastructure team.
Rob has over 30 years of experience in construction law and is familiar with the issues of concern to industry participants.
This includes issues arising during construction works such as pulling bank guarantees, site access, extensions of time, delay costs, liquidated damages, variations, overcoming time bars and termination. It also includes methods of dispute resolution such as rapid adjudication under the Construction Contracts Act, arbitration, mediation and litigation.
Rob has significant relationships with a range of developers, architects and engineers, project managers, contractors and subcontractors, programmers, quantity surveyors and other consultants. He is also actively involved in construction industry associations including the Australian Institute of Building.
