Lavan is delighted to be the recipient of the 2025 Attorney General’s Community Service Award – Law Firm Category, presented by Attorney General Dr Tony Buti at The Law Society of Western Australia’s 2025 Gala Awards on Friday, 7 November.
This prestigious honour reflects Lavan’s demonstrated commitment to pro bono work that benefits Western Australians who cannot access the legal system without incurring significant financial hardship. The Attorney General’s Community Service Awards recognise exceptional contributions to the community and celebrate pro bono, legal aid and community legal work by lawyers, law firms and not-for-profit groups.
Lavan’s pro bono work is carried out firmwide and more than $3 million in pro bono services has been contributed over the past two years, directly supporting vulnerable women and children, people with disabilities, youth mental health, and indigenous communities. In addition, the firm has a pro bono program for graduates with placements at Community Legal Centres. This program enables graduates to improve their practical skills while assisting disadvantaged individuals.

The announcement of the Attorney General’s Community Service Award is the second major recognition for Lavan’s Pro Bono practice. In May 2025, Lavan was honoured to receive the Highly Commended award in the Pro Bono: Outstanding Firm category of the Chambers and Partners Asia-Pacific and Greater China Region Awards.
