Jim Rutherford is a consultant in Lavan’s Employment, Safety & Education team.
Jim brings more than 35 years of legal experience in employment law, occupational health and safety law, and workplace relations, and has held various senior leadership and management roles. He is an Accredited Specialist in Workplace Relations Law in Victoria where he acted for many employers charged with occupational health and safety offences.
Jim also has extensive experience acting for the Education Sector. Prior to joining Lavan, Jim worked in the Workplace Relations Team at Curtin University. Before this Jim was a partner in a mid-tier Victorian law firm where he advised and represented several independent schools and Marcus Oldham College, a tertiary institution serving the agricultural sector.
He has been admitted to the Victorian bar and is also an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law.
