From our Property & Leasing team we are proud to congratulate Adri Lock on her well-earned promotion to special counsel, Jay Bebbington on his advancement to senior associate, and Jasmine Ball on her promotion to associate. Additionally, Amanda Valenti has been promoted to senior associate in our Employment, Safety & Education team.
Lavan has recently welcomed respected legal adviser John Quigley to the firm as a consultant within our Government sector. Other recent appointments include, special counsel Desiree Pavey and senior associate Amanda Soh to our Restructuring, Disputes & Insolvency team, senior associate Samuel Speechly to our Construction & Infrastructure team, and senior associate Abdul Al Asadi to our Employment, Safety & Education team. Lavan has also welcomed Jessie Lonergan as an associate in our Family & Private Clients team, and Katie Moynihan as an associate in our Property & Leasing team.

John Quigley – Government
We are pleased to announce that the Honourable John Quigley, who served as Western Australia’s Attorney General for eight years and as Minister for Commerce and Electoral Affairs for four years, has joined Lavan as a consultant following his retirement from parliament at the March 2025 election. Mr Quigley has a deep understanding of the operations of government, including areas where local councils, state departments, statutory authorities, and government-owned corporations may need legal assistance.

Desiree Pavey – Restructuring, Disputes & Insolvency
Lavan is pleased to welcome respected practitioner Desiree Pavey as special counsel. With extensive experience in commercial litigation, insolvency, and restructuring advice, she is a valuable addition to Lavan’s leading Restructuring, Disputes & Insolvency team.

Abdul Al Asadi – Employment, Safety & Education
Abdul joins Lavan as a senior associate in our Employment, Safety & Education team. He brings broad experience representing both employees and employers, as well as serving with various community legal centres across Perth.
Jay Bebbington – Property & Leasing
Since joining Lavan as a clerk in 2018 and completing his graduate year in 2021, Jay has become a valued member of the Property & Leasing team. He has developed strong expertise across all areas of commercial property and has acted for clients in high-value land and asset sales, as well as acquisitions of commercial, residential, and rural properties across Western Australia.
Amanda Soh – Restructuring, Disputes & Insolvency
Amanda rejoins Lavan’s Restructuring, Disputes & Insolvency team as a senior associate. She brings extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters, regularly advising insolvency practitioners, financiers, and companies on all aspects of receivership, voluntary administration, liquidation, and distressed investments.
Samuel Speechly – Construction & Infrastructure
The Construction & Infrastructure team welcomes Samuel Speechly as senior associate. He advises clients in mining, energy, resources, construction, infrastructure, and major projects on high-stakes disputes and complex commercial matters, with expertise in contractual disputes, urgent court applications, and security of payment across all Australian jurisdictions.
Amanda Valenti – Employment, Safety & Education
Since joining Lavan’s Employment, Safety & Education team in 2024, Amanda has established the firm’s migration practice and manages a range of migration law matters. Her extensive knowledge of immigration law, policy and processes, allows her to provide practical advice to businesses and individuals navigating Australia’s immigration system.

Jasmine Ball – Property & Leasing
Jasmine is an experienced lawyer in Lavan’s Property & Leasing team. She advises on a wide range of property matters, including acquisitions, sales, commercial leasing, licensing, and property rights, helping to build strong and trusted relationships with her clients.
Katie Moynihan – Property & Leasing
Katie is a welcome addition to Lavan’s Property & Leasing team. Katie brings particular expertise in complex leasing arrangements and has acted on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property assets for both vendors and purchasers.
Jessie Lonergan – Family & Private Clients
Jessie joins Lavan as an associate in the Family & Private Clients team. Jessie brings in-depth experience in family law, handling complex financial settlements, parenting arrangements, and family violence matters. With an empathetic and pragmatic approach, she works alongside clients to secure positive outcomes.
